Michael Brennan

President
 

Michael J. Brennan, PMP, CPIM, is an information systems consultant with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and has been with them for the past 14 years. During that span he has held a variety of different positions within Wyeth. He has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry mainly in information systems, manufacturing and distribution. He has managed a wide variety of information systems projects ranging from small to very large ($72 million). The projects involved many different technologies, tools and integration.

Michael directed the development and implementation of ERP system projects globally. He is very familiar with pharmaceutical FDA regulatory requirements and has validated applications, processes, and qualified infrastructure. He was also involved in a new pharmaceutical plant construction project that was integrated with a variety of computer systems.

Michael has worked on projects in more than 10 different international countries and brings a broad international cultural background to the chapter. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Widener University with a management major. In addition to being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he is also certified by the American Production and Inventory Control Society as a Certified Professional in Inventory Management (CPIM).

 
 
 
  Robert G. Beane, Jr Director-At-Large
 

 

Robert G Beane Jr, PMP is an experienced chemical engineer with a background in process design and new process validation and has been a Project Manager in the Pharmaceutical Industry for over 7 years. Rob is currently employed with Integrated Project Services, an Architectural and Engineering firm specializing in the design, build, commissioning and validation of facilities for pharmaceutical clients.

Rob's areas of expertise include facility and process system commissioning and validation to ensure that drug products meet FDA requirements for compliance with regulatory guidelines. He has extensive experience in management of concurrently run projects that include the qualification of systems such as classified room HVAC systems, clean compressed air, aseptic primary and secondary packaging equipment, Water for Injection and building automation systems.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Villanova University and graduated in 1997.  Rob is a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and managed the team for the New Member Night for 2006.

 
  Leo Connolly Director-At-Large
 

Leo Connolly PMP is a Project Manager in the Information Technology Department of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia . In addition to being a PMP Leo has also achieved the following credentials: RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer), NTS (Network Transport Specialist), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).

Leo is a technology infrastructure specialist and is a member of the Building Industry Consulting Service International, a professional association supporting the information transport systems industry with information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies worldwide. Leo originally from Ireland is a proud US Citizen and lives with his family in Blue Bell, Montgomery County PA. He has worked in the design and management of technology infrastructure and systems for over twenty years. He has been employed as a Subcontract Manager and Planning Engineer on large multi million dollar construction projects including offshore gas rigs and oil refineries in a variety of European Countries before settling in the United States which he now considers his home. Leo has worked at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for the last five year's. His responsibilities in his current position include the implementation and management of information systems on all large construction projects for the Hospital. Since its start in 1855 as the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to caring for sick children the Hospital has fostered many medical discoveries and innovations that have improved pediatric healthcare and saved countless children's lives all over the World. Leo strongly believes that the work he does everyday contributes to the Hospital's success and its mission to provide caring for sick children and their families.

 
  Jay Gassaway Director-At-Large
 

Jay D. Gassaway, PMP, has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and an MBA in finance and economics. He and his wife Gail reside in West Deptford , NJ. He has been employed by Public Service Electric and Gas Co. since 1970 and has worked primarily in a project environment since that time.

Jay was a member of the project management team for the design and construction of the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear generating stations and is now a member of the Nuclear Department. He recently developed the Project Management Manual for the organization.

Jay has been a member of PMI since 1992 and a PMP since 1994. His primary contributions to the chapter have been through the Education Committee, which he joined in 1996. He instructs Foundations and PMP Prep classes and teaches Risk and Multiple Projects courses in the Masters Certificate program. He recently completed a two-year term as Vice President – Education. He is currently teaching an on-line PMP Preparation class and is on the team upgrading the chapter's PMP Prep curriculum material to the upcoming 3rd Edition of PMBOK.

 
  Fred D. Hammond Director-At-Large
 

Fred D. Hammond, PMP, is an IT Project Manager with DuPont in Wilmington, DE.  He has over 14 years of professional experience working in the pharmaceutical, educational and chemical industries, and has been a practicing project manager since 2001.  In addition to being a PMP, Fred has also achieved the following credentials: MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).

 

At DuPont, Fred has managed global IT projects in the following areas: Telecommunications, Mobility, SAP, and Facilities Management.  Before coming to DuPont, Fred worked primarily in the Windows desktop and server technology areas, including desktop deployments, system administration, and server reengineering. In addition to his professional experience, Fred enjoys supporting charitable organizations such as local Boys & Girls clubs, United Way, and Habitat for Humanity.

 

Fred holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Information Systems from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.  As a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), he served as a member on the PMI-DVC New Member Night committee in June 2007.  Fred is happily married with 2 sons and resides in Delaware County, PA.
 
 

Richard Knaster

Director-At-Large
 

Richard Knaster, PMP, has extensive experience as a Senior Technology Leader and has held various management and executive technology positions with Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies, ranging from managing Business Systems Analysis to CTO to Vice President, Business Process Engineering.

Richard's expertise includes developing technology strategies, launching new products and services, developing complex software applications, managing all phases of projects, directing IT operations, building teams and organizations, and implementing Project Management Offices and tools. Richard has successfully developed advanced Project Management Software for Primavera Systems and was instrumental in the visioning and implementation of their web based solutions.

Richard has a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Information Technology from the University of Buffalo. He is a Senior IT Specialist with IBM and provides leadership in Sales, Marketing and Professional Services for their Rational Portfolio Manager (RPM) product. Richard has been a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2001 and joined the board on January 1, 2006 as the Director, Information Technology. Richard is also an active member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executives Group (GPSEG) and the Technical Executives Networking Group (TENG).

 
 

Laurie Rudnitsky

Laurie M. Rudnitsky, PMP, is president of LMRudy, Inc.   Laurie has over 20 years of professional experience and has been a practicing project manager since 1995.   Laurie started with implementation of banking systems and moved into the pharmaceutical industry as a consultant.

Laurie's clients consist of major pharmaceutical firms such as Astrazeneca, Aventis, and Centocor working on projects for system implementations and clinical study management.   As a project manager, Laurie has been able increase revenues by over $1M and produce savings over$.5M during project execution.  With projects ranging from small to over $1M, Laurie has been very successful in managing teams that will overall exceed sponsor expectations which, inevitably, produce the highest results.

Laurie holds a B.B.A in Manufacturing Operations Management and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987.  Laurie is a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and managed the team for the PMI-DVC Philadelphia Tools Event for September 2004.

 

Ann Tomalavage

Director-At-Large

Ann M. Tomalavage, P.E., PMP, is president of Malarkey Consulting, Inc. Ann has over 30 years of professional experience, and has been a practicing project manager since 1984. Ann holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware . Ann is a registered professional engineer, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Ann works with organizations and individuals who are frustrated by overrun projects, missed deadlines, and dissatisfied clients. Ann's specialty is helping technical personnel understand, embrace, and apply project management principles.

Ann is a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), and has been a member of the Education Committee. Ann was co-PM for PMI's annual seminar/symposium hosted by the Delaware Valley Chapter in Philadelphia in 1999. In May 2003, Ann presented a workshop on changing engineers into project managers, at the North Jersey PMI chapter's conference.

 
  Frank Walker Director-At-Large
 


Frank Walker is president of TWG and co-founder of GTW where he was president from 1988 to 1997 during a period of rapid growth in size, diversity and investment in internal IT development. TWG supports clients through all the stages of the program or project life cycle. Frank is an excellent leader with the ability to pull the best people together for a project and to make a great team of them. He is adept in all the aspects of project management (PM) including the management of time, resources, cost, risk, scope, contracts, quality and communication. Specialties include, team planning, fast-track project management, management by exception using earned value, litigation avoidance and mediation.

His seminars on PM, PMP certification & PM software are in demand, worldwide. He has given classes to representatives of hundreds of companies. At Microsoft's request, he led an in-house team to produce and market GTW's Project Partner and other Microsoft Project companion products and to customize Microsoft Project for specific companies. He has been quoted in Fortune Magazine, Engineering News Record, PMI, etc. and has been on a Satellite/Webcasting Learning Series. Frank has lived long-term in Sydney, Vancouver , Turkey (where he was found equal to a donkey by a Turkish magistrate), Seattle, and Dallas and he currently lives in the Philadelphia / New York City corridor.
